Hello everyone. Welcome to Big Data and Language. Finally, it's time for you to conduct your own research. So have you thought about your research questions? If not, then you may need to stop this video and think about your research question. Or you may want to just keep watching this video so you have some ideas and tips for your research. So are you ready? Let's get started. Okay, so for your research paper, of your final project, first of all, you need to write an abstract. The abstract should be specific, and concise and clear. So once you finish your abstract, you need to check whether your abstract is specific, concise, and clear, okay? The introduction, the first part after the abstract. Your final paper will be about Introduction and the literature review. The introduction identifies important problems that need to be addressed and explains why the issues here are important and also discusses the range of analytical approaches that might be used, then argues for approach taken here. So you need to address the importance of your topic and also you need to describe what will be the previous analysis or findings from the other research and studies. Also a clear statement of goals and specific research questions of course, in your introduction the first part, and the study and research question are clearly situated and motivated relative to previous research. In other words, the introduction describes relevant previous research and relates the present study to that work. The major part will be about Methodology and Procedures. So the matters for selecting task and collecting and analyzing data are clearly described and justified. Also, the study applies an appropriate design and appropriate interesting discourse analysis techniques. The text chosen for analysis and the methods used for the analysis allow investigation of the targeted research questions. The second major part is Discussion and interpretation of findings. So which means that fully discussed and exemplified. So you need to show tables or charts for your readers understanding. Also you need to note the limitations. There is no perfect research. The limitation, if you have some limitations that's fully natural, you need to describe the limitation, and also that will be the direction for the future research. Does the analysis and interpretation achieve the research goals set out in the introduction? Are there research questions adequately answered? So you need to check those criteria, and of course, because it's the academic paper, as I mentioned that in the register part, especially the formal register, right? Technical terminology should be explained on the first use, self-contained and new concepts should be adequately developed. Also, the paper and the writing itself should be well-structured, which means clearly organized and has an initial overview, and final summary and local organization as well, okay? Also, it should be well-written, so clear prose and reasonable sentence length and well edited error-free, and allows the format of the specific style sheet. You should include the references. So current and adequate to support the discussion of the papers, specific and appropriate citations are included in the prose. So usually, you can choose your own phone but in general in academic writing, we used Times New Roman 12 font 12 and double-spaced. So based on that, I will upload the list for your peer review. Once you submit your paper, then you will actually read one of your classmates paper. So please complete this checklist for your peer review, okay? So I'm very looking forward to reading your research paper and good luck with your research. So far we've talked about guideline and the peer review and thank you very much for your hard work and I'm looking for a word to your final project. Thank you for your attention.
