Hello, welcome to the week of visual arts. I'm going to read some things out of my book, and this is Healing with Visual Arts. May we hold our hearts in tenderness and grace as we use art to heal in the week ahead. May we align ourselves in mind, heart, body and soul, letting the inate wisdom of your mind's eye emerge and bear witness to the deepest and most profound expression of your creativity. May you have faith as you open your heart, and open your mind to the grand mystery within. And this week I'm going to be working with you, and creating opportunities for you to explore visual art. I'd like you to start in your journal. Your journal is something that you've been keeping all along. And I'd like, this week, for you to collect visual images and paste them in your journal. Put images of postcards, photography that you like, just put as much, use your journal like a visual diary. So collect images, make collages. Anything that sort of ignites you or excites you or you're visually stimulated by. This week in your journal, sort of collect all these different activities. And if you want, you can look through magazines because we're going to do some collaging. And pick out just images that you love. And also I invite you to take your journal, and just spend time doodling in your journal this week. Just letting your hand go and playing, and making shapes and drawing colors. Anything that just allows you to play with the visual expression. I'm going to do a guided imagery that hopefully will get you started. And that way you can begin to use, every time you do guided imageries and images come up, that you have when you're doing the meditations and centering. You can use some of those images in your drawings, in your collages, in your paintings. This week we're going to be going over a couple of activities. First, I'm going to be introducing mandalas and you can make a mandala as an activity which is very simple. And in one of the videos I'll teach you, Mary Lisa will teach you how to do that. Then we're going to visit Gina in her studio. And she's going to talk about intuitive painting, and she's also going to talk about making collages. Also, we have drawing coloring books. In this course, we've created our own coloring book that you can download. And you can be using them as drawings. So I'm hoping that you have enough material for you to begin to explore. If you like to paint, if you like to draw, if you like to doodle, I invite you to keep doing this throughout the course. Each week it's a module for you to explore the different mediums. But depending on which one clicks with you, go ahead and stay with that if it gets your creative juices going. So in your journal this week, I'd like you to start collecting images. And also, when I do the guided imagery of finding your inner visual artist, I'd like you to take that time after that guided imagery, to do actually some drawing or some coloring or some making art. So have your journal ready when I do the next video, which is going to be a guided imagery to meet your inner artist. Also I invite you to experiment with different visual arts materials this week, see what you like. Maybe put some music on, open your studio, get in your own personal sacred space, and just simply play in your journal for this week. So this is the time in which you can begin to just play. One of the things about making art, remember there's no mistakes. I know many of you say you can't draw, but everybody can draw. And just, for a moment, let things happen, just be creative, just have fun and take advantage of these wonderful art demonstration by these guest artists and just see what you can do and play around. And post, I'd like you to post on the platform, post your projects, post some of the images that you did. Whether you did a college, whether you did a mandala, whether you did a coloring book, whether you did all of them, post them so we can all share them together. So thank you and welcome to the week of visual arts.
